Japanese legend says one who folds 1,000 origami paper cranes will be granted any wish they choose. This legend has been made world famous by the story of Sadaka and the Thousand Paper Cranes. Today, many hold this legend as a sincere act of dedication and commitment.
The students of Minato Gakuen Japanese school in San Diego have collectively folded 1,000 cranes as a WISH for world peace. The chain of paper cranes has been carefully constructed and assembled to be presented at Part I: Ceremony of our upcoming Peace & Humanity Day event.
The piece of art is as visually pleasing as it is powerful as a message of peace from our very own youth. See the paper cranes in the photos below and at our event on Shelter Island next week.
